TCC does not have an admissions test.
All new-to-college students are required to take a placement test to determine college readiness in reading, writing and mathematics before enrolling in restricted courses.
The ACCUPLACER is the state-approved placement test offered at TCC. Students must satisfy the minimum passing standards (PDF opens in a new window) to satisfy Texas Success Initiative (TSI) and course prerequisite requirements.
Some students may be score exempt from placement testing based on TAKS, SAT, or ACT scores.
Some students may also qualify for a waiver or exception.
