Program Options

Associate of Applied Science Degree

Our two-year Associate of Applied Science Degree is fully accredited by the American Health Information Management Association’s (AHIMA) accreditation division (CAHIIM).

Successful completion of the program allows our graduates to sit for the associate degree based certifications offered by AHIMA, including:

  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS - experience recommended)
  • Certified Coding Specialist – Physician based (CCS-P)

Certificate of Completion

Our certificate provides entry-level skills deemed essential by TCC’s HIT Advisory Committee for entry-level positions in health information management.

Successful completion of the program allows our students to meet requirements for basic employment in non-skilled positions or to apply the credits toward the Associate of Applied Science in Health Information Technology Degree.

Certificate Program Goals:

  • Provide non-skilled health information management (HIM) employees with credit hours in health information technology foundation courses and selected other courses to enhance the individual’s marketability and job security
  • Provide a basis for individuals who wish to enter the Health Information Technology Associate Degree Program
  • Provide transferable, college-credit hours for individuals wishing to transfer to other colleges or universities
